We can help you if you

• want to collect a debt
• have been sold faulty goods
• have received poor service from repairmen or builders
• want to contest a will
• have been wrongly or unfairly dismissed from work
• have a dispute with your landlord or your tenant

but these are only examples of the cases which may come to court.

We think it is very important to consider Alternative Dispute Resolution before cases are taken to court and strongly recommend our clients to use it wherever possible. It is available for example through the Neighbour Dispute Mediation Service in cases of disputes with your neighbours but there are several other examples. They are often free or available at relatively small cost. If a case does come to court the judge will often try to persuade the parties to attempt mediation, and will hold up the case for the purpose.

Cost

We are unable to offer legal aid but we will be happy to discuss with you the likely cost of any proceedings and to reach an agreement with you about how these are to be financed. Sometimes your household insurance offers legal expenses insurance to enable you to go to court if the insurance company thinks you have a good case.
